Security Integrator – This business sells, installs, services and leases high quality video surveillance systems for supermarket and big box stores.  The system includes modules to generate detailed quotes, manage installation projects, generate invoicing for both leasing and sales customers.  The leasing module automatically adjusts the invoice as lease milestones are reached according to each contract.  They also manage their customer production, service and repair departments.  Generate quarterly and year end reports.  Automatically transfer data from the FileMaker system to their accounting system.  They had been using a mix of both FileMaker and Spreadsheets to run their business for several years but as they grew it became increasingly difficult to stay on top of the growing amount of information generated by each of projects.  As they grew they would have several project running at the same time, all at a different stage of development.  FileMaker allowed them to streamline the overall workflow while providing employees easy access to the just the information critical to performing each one’s assigned tasks.

Lighting Supplier – Supplier for the commercial and residential construction market.  This solution is used for the preparation of quotes, orders and customer invoicing.  It provides for the creation of POs, Vendor Invoices, scheduling of deliveries and also performs inventory management.  It also provide integration with the accounting system.  In the construction business, everything is time dependent.  The right parts need to be delivered to the right customer at the right time. The system provide flexible quoting system that can easily release items to orders as required by individual jobs.  It also allows the shipping department to coordinate shipments for multiple customers 

Quoting System – The manufacturers of mobile communication vehicles for the broadcast, homeland security and specialty markets needed a flexible quoting solution so they could tailor quotes to match a wide variety of vehicle options to widely varying customer needs. Our solution gives the sales staff tools to select the options required by each customer and present a complex quote in an understandable format.

Sports Photography – Our customer needed a way to make sure orders taken on their web site were processed efficiently with particular attention paid to orders with special handling or expedited delivery requirements.  We were able to create a production control system that imports orders from the web and manages the entire production schedule.  Includes printing production control documents with integrated barcodes, automatically copying image files to production folders and generating content for image and matting overlays.  Each order is accompanied with a production document that includes an image of the final product as well as  visually indicating frame and matting requested and any special handling needs or shipping requirements.  The system has helped reduce mistakes and the time it takes to get the product out the door.

Customized Reporting Applications

A human resources consulting firm that helps organizations with employee retention, diversity management, and wellness management had significant reporting requirements every quarter.  They needed to prepare a report for 60 to 100 clients showing both detailed and summary information.  The reports included multiple sections in different styles including descriptive paragraphs, charts and tables.  The quarterly reporting could often take up to a month to compile.  Our reporting solution aggregated data from an existing FileMaker database and produced a multi page report including cover page, summaries, multiple charts and tables.  Reports can now be prepared in just a few minutes.  Reports can be reviewed by case managers before they are saved as a single PDF and emailed to clients.

A literary agent needed a way to keep track of his clients engagements and generate accurate contracts and invoices.  Our solution provided an easy way to collect client information and travel preferences, engagement details and contacts and provide all the needed contracts, itineraries and billing data required for engagement quickly and accurately.

Contact Management

A Community Newspaper –  maintained their subscription database partially in an old DOS system partially in the head of a long time employee.  There was only one person that knew how the old system worked.  They were looking for a way to move off of the old hardware into something more modern and more reliable.  They needed to manage their subscription list, prepare a bi-monthly export of the mailing list for their publisher, generate warnings when subscriptions are about to run out and automate the preparation of subscription renewal notices.  Working with their subscription manager we were able to create a solution meeting all their needs while being simple enough to be used with almost no training.  

Camps – Summer Camp for children from 7 to 17.  Maintains camper lists, parent/guardian information, medical information, activity schedules and counselor assignments.  Imports registration data from web site.

Shipping & Receiving Systems

Supply Chain Aggregator – Our client manages a “just in time” inventory system for a major manufacturer.  They order parts from multiple vendors, keep track of the parts in use on the factory floor and restock assembly line positions as needed.  They needed something that would allow them to walk through the factory noting what parts were needed at each station and prepare those parts for delivery to the factory.  They also needed to prepare POs, record vendor invoices and customer orders and prepare billing statements for their customers.  We developed an iPad solution using FileMaker Go that allows employees to take a shopping list to the factory floor and record inventory requirements at each manufacturing station.  Packing lists can then be created based on the information collected.

Non-Profit Solutions

Donation and Event Management – This solution helps a arts non-profit organize their events, memberships and donations. Including managing submitted artwork for shows, importing artwork details from online sources and managing donations.

Event and Membership Management –  Record donations and produce tax, thank-you and other correspondence for non-profits.  Manage membership of the organization including collecting dues.  Track member’s annual point standings in multiple categories.
